A day ahead of the second phase of polling in Chhattisgarh, chief minister Raman Singh on Wednesday claimed that his party would get clear majority with more than 55 seats.
"The huge voting percentage in the state during first phase shows that people have voted for the development and peace. And this will enable BJP to get clear majority to retain power," Singh told press in Raipur.
Singh said Congress' campaign was focused around the Central funds allocated to state and did not include any issue directly concerning the common men like development, water, road, electricity etc.
The funds made available to the state was the legitimate share of it and were properly utilised.
"Why did not they speak about the alleged non-spending of Central assistances for last five years? All the union ministers who visited Chhattisgarh had appreciated the work done here, but just ahead of the election, their tone has changed and they are alleging that fund was not used properly," he said.
Admitting that BSP is a factor in all constituencies, Singh said, it would however not affect BJP's poll prospects.

{{/usCountry}}Denying that he was following the working style of Gujarat chief minister Narndra Modi, Singh said, "I have my own working style and Modi has his. I am however following the development pattern set by Modi."
Reacting on being called as 'Labra Raja (king of liars)' by Ajit Jogi, Singh said,"I never lie. But Jogi, who declared that he would contest against me has failed to keep his word."
