BJP workers protest against cow slaughter in Lucknow

Hundreds of BJP workers on Monday lodged a protest at a local police station in Lucknow against the increasing incidents of cow slaughter in the Uttar Pradesh capital and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.

Hundreds of BJP workers on Monday lodged a protest at a local police station in Lucknow against the increasing incidents of cow slaughter in the Uttar Pradesh capital and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.

“Three cows have been slaughtered by Muslims. This is a highly provocative act for which we are here to demand arrest of the accused and seek Rs 2 lakh compensation for the farmers,” BJP district president Ram Nivas Yadav, who led his party’s worker, said.

Two incidents of cow slaughter have been reported in Lucknow in the last one week.

On Sunday, a case of cow slaughter was reported from an area under Gudamba police station. Another incident was reported from Billauchpura area last week and two people, who were allegedy behind the incident, have already been arrested.

“We didn’t call the BJP. We did inform the police though to seek action against the guilty who are on the run. Cow slaughter has been quite rampant here,” Jeetu Yadav, the owner of the cow that was allegedly slaughtered, said at the Gudamba police station.
