PROTESTING AGAINST the arrest of State president of the BJP Keshari Nath Tripathi, party activists took out a procession and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav at court crossing on Friday. They also handed over a memorandum to the ADM city to be forwarded to the President of India and demanded dismississal of the SP-led State government.

BJP MP Yogi Adityanath said the people had rejected Mulayam Singh in the recently concluded civic body elections and it was the beginning of the ouster of SP from UP. He said the arrest of Tripathi had established the fact that the State government was pursuing a policy of appeasement towards a particular community.
Former cabinet minister Shiv Pratap Shukla said the district administration had conspired to ensure the defeat of BJP candidate Anju Chaudhary but the unprecedented support of the people foiled the plan. Newly elected mayor Anju Chaudhary exhorted the BJP activists to come forward and launch a movement to dislodge the Mulayam Singh government. Party leaders Ramesh Singh, Sameer Singh, Dr Dharmendra Singh, Upendra Shukla, Jitendra Chaudhary and many others also expressed their views on this occasion.
