A resolution to this effect was adopted at the 3rd International Conference on Sexology in Chennai, organised by the Indian Institute of Sexual Medicine and city-based Aakash Institute of Fertility and Research.

They said the monitoring body should be vested with adequate powers to deal firmly with such websites as they adversely affect the younger generation.

The medical experts also requested the Centre to incorporate sex education in academic curriculum so that the youth get positive knowledge on sex-related issues.

Introducing specialised diploma and degree courses in sexual medicine would help in creating adequate number of experts in the field, they suggested.

The sexologists also urged the Centre to form separate departments, headed by competent experts under the Health Ministry, to design, develop and execute programmes and projects giving emphasis on the preventive aspects of sexual diseases, especially sexual dysfunctions and abnormalities caused by lifestyle modification.
