Blast injures 14, causes damage in Pakistan

An explosion in the Pakistani city of Quetta injured 14 people and caused widespread damage, reports said.

An explosion in the Pakistani city of Quetta injured 14 people and caused widespread damage, media reports said on Sunday.

State-run television PTV said a homemade bomb strapped to a bicycle left near a row of restaurants on Prince Road went off.

Another television channel said the injured included a woman and five children. Two cars, several restaurants and shops were damaged.

Quetta is the capital of Balochistan that has been rocked by a tribal insurgency supported by nationalists demanding rights over gas and other natural resources of the province, which borders Iran and Afghanistan.
