In another incident, militants hurled a hand grenade towards an under construction house, housing a platoon of 158 battalion CRPF at Botshah Mohallah Lal Bazar in the city outskirts. CRPF spokesperson Prabhakar Tripathi said the grenade missed its target and exploded without causing any damage. He said the militants threw another hand grenade at Firdous cinema in Hawal, which was the company headquarters of the 96 battalion of CRPF.
Director General of Police Kuldeep Khudda said the blasts were a desperate attempt by the militants to make their presence felt.
