Blazing heat? and then, rain!

ALL IN a day-intense and unusual summer heat and intense monsoon rain. The moisture feed to the systems over and adjacent to Lucknow were totally cut off in last 48 hours. This led to totally clear sky that let the sun to shine scorching bright. So much so that the maximum temperature reached to as high as 37 degrees on Saturday.

But, early in the evening, with moisture connectivity to the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over East UP from the Bay of Bengal lead to intense cloud activity and then the precipitation. Before the rain, there were very strong winds that proved conducive for clouds gathering over Lucknow. There is a depression over the Bay of Bengal, which is replete with moisture. The depression has started moving and if it takes UP's direction then we may have heavy rains after two days.
