In the next section, the Act states that the budget proposals should be given to the council before or on January 15. Sources said that preparations for budget proposals began from beginning of December but these are yet to reach ‘officially’ to the MiC.

The MiC held only informal discussion during its last meeting. MiC member Kailash Mishra admitted that there was discussion about the budget proposals but nothing like approval of any document. On the other hand, Mayor Sunil Sood said that the budget is being prepared according to rules.

Another MiC member on condition of anonymity said that there was no such discussion so far in the MiC. So, the approvals would be taken in back dates like previous years, he added.
