BHOPAL MUNICIPAL Corporation (BMC) administration will ask Railways authority to provide six meters of land along the road from platform number-one at Main Railway Station to Bharat Talkies flyover for widening work.
Divisional Commissioner of Bhopal Hoshangabad division K K Singh on Wednesday issued directives in this regard while inspecting ongoing developmental work around Railway Station worth Rs two crore. The work is expected to change the face of the Railway Station.
On the occasion, Railway officials were told that BMC would need six metre Railway land from Reservation Building to Bharat Talkies flyover for widening the road.
Singh directed BMC officials to write a letter in this regard to the Divisional Railway Manger. He also directed officials to remove the encroachments from here.
District collector S K Mishra, IG Sanjeev Kumar Singh, SP Anant Kumar Singh and BMC commissioner Manish Singh were also present. Assistant divisional engineer of Railways, S K Nigam was also present on the occasion.
While inspecting the area outside platform number-five, the divisional commissioner took stock of mini buses milling on the road parallel to Hamidia Road. Since some buildings will come in the way of the widening work, residents are to be shifted soon.

{{/usCountry}}BMC is carrying out road construction work from Alpana Talkies to platform number-one and the road connecting platform number- five to Bharat Talkies Flyover. Both the roads are being converted into four-lane roads.
Officials were satisfied with the work outside platform number- five. However, work outside platform number one is yet to be started.
BMC officials said work will be started within a couple of days as the contractor has started installing a concrete plant. The State Government is providing Rs two crore for both these works.
