In a surprising case of official apathy, more than 70,000 government school students in the district, who are set to take the board examinations this year, will bring their own sheets to answer questions written on blackboards.
According to the district Basic Education Department, they don't have adequate fund to print question papers for the annual exams.
Though students of government schools in Delhi get answer sheets and printed questions papers, schools in Noida have to remind students to get their own answer papers.
"An answer sheet is the basic requirement for an examination that students should be provided with," said a teacher.
Though officials say they have reported the matter to higher authorities, nothing has been done yet.
"We have informed the officials concerned, but they always say there is no budget to buy answer sheets for students. During Boards, students are already are under a lot of academic pressure. Asking them to get an answer sheet is adding to their burden," said Ashok Sharma, general secretary, Primary Teachers' Association.
"It is really difficult for us to carry extra papers with us. I have even forgotten to get them sometimes. In such a situation, I have to borrow from other students. Copying questions written on the blackboard is another task that consumes a lot of time," said Anoop Kumar, a student.

{{/usCountry}}However, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Rajesh Kumar refuted the allegations. "Since last year, we have not been conducting any kind of written examination for our students. The teachers promote students on the basis of their overall performance," he said.
About 660 schools in the district cater to students up to Class 8.
