Flexible scheduling is an arrangement whereby an employee is involved in selecting their own work hours, and sometimes workdays. The companies should offer the flexible working hour during core business hours.

The proposal to this effect has been sent to Commonwealth Games Organising committee and the state governments of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan to relieve working population within NCR of their normal working hours as it will disrupt flow of traffic and create chaos, confusion and unnecessary traffic snarls.

Assocham Secretary General D.S. Rawat said during the Games, 85 lakh-strong working population of Delhi and NCR can make use of flexi-hours system and avoid using public transport for commuting between their homes and offices and prevent traffic jams both in peak and normal hours.

During morning peak hours (which begin at 7 a.m.) office-goers take about three hours to reach their offices through public transport. The maximum load is on Delhi-Gurgaon, south, north, east Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad roads.
