Bohra community celebrates Id-ul-fitr

DAWOODI BOHRA sect celebrated ?Id-ul-fitr? (Mithi Id) with ?fazr ki namaz? and special namaz ?khutba?, heralding ?khushi ki majlis? at a special prayer meet held under the guidance of chief ?Aamil? Syyed Kauser Ali at Saifi Nagar Mosque on Monday.

DAWOODI BOHRA sect celebrated ‘Id-ul-fitr’ (Mithi Id) with ‘fazr ki namaz’ and special namaz ‘khutba’, heralding ‘khushi ki majlis’ at a special prayer meet held under the guidance of chief ‘Aamil’ Syyed Kauser Ali at Saifi Nagar Mosque on Monday.

According to Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat press committee members Mazhar Hussein Sethjiwala and Burhanuddin Shakruwala, the special ‘Alfa ki namaz’ was held on the eve of Mithi Id after the ‘namaz’ of ‘Magrib and Isha’ on Sunday evening.

The festive day began with holding of ‘fazr ki namaz and Khutba’ after, which chief ‘amil’ declared ‘khushi ki majlis’. The chief ‘amil’ in his prayers thanked for ‘Roza’ during ‘Ramzan’ and chance to perform ‘ibadat’. ‘Kasida mubarak’ and ‘madeh ki tilwat’ were held early in the morning.

Secretary Sheikh Haider Ali Dewaswala said that ‘sherbat’ was presented in the service of chief ‘amil’ who was later feted. The chief ‘amil’ during ‘khushi ki majlis’ toasted to the health and long life of the sect head Dr Saiyyedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb and for peace and unity of the country. A large number of sect followers gathered at the mosque for prayers.

Haider Ali Mhowwalal said that special ‘khutba’ was read out from al Bohra mosques in the area. The Bohra community observed a holiday today and their establishments remained closed for business.
