Friends star Jennifer Aniston could soon be seen in a Bollywood remake. The actress was approached by LA-based restaurateur Sanjay Patel to star in an updated version of Asit Sen’s Khamoshi and has reportedly expressed an interest in the project.

If she signs, Aniston becomes the latest Hollywood actor to star in a Bollywood production, joining the ranks of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, Mark Wahlberg, Jesse Metcalfe and Barbara Mori.

Patel said: “I’ve spoken to her [Jennifer] about doing Waheeda Rehman’s role in Khamoshi. She wants me to give her the full script, which we’re working on.”

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are preparing to shoot the third in the Romancing the Stone series, a movie produced by Indian biggies Percept Media Ltd. “It’s on partnership basis. The film’s production costs will be borne by Percept. A crew of almost 150 people will work on this film,” said Mahendra Singh, MD, Percept Media Limited.

UTV has done M Night Shyamalan’s The Happening, which stars Mark Wahlberg. “Working with M Night Shyamalan has been gratifying,” said Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures. “We look forward to working together in the future.”

Next up is Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Broken Horses which will feature Hollywood actors and be associated with scriptwriter and Oscar Award nominee Nick Pileggi.
