Bomb found at Bank of India branch in Andhra

Police defused a bomb in Bank of India's (BoI) Seethampeta branch, thus averting a major tragedy.

Police on Saturday defused a bomb in Bank of India's (BoI) Seethampeta branch in Rajahmundry.

An anonymous caller informed the branch manager that a powerful bomb was planted in the bank, police said adding, the manager then alerted police, who pressed into service the bomb disposal squad.

The bomb was later defused, police said and added a major tragedy was prevented as the bank was crowded with customers on Saturday.
