Bomb hoax caller arrested

A Gujjar youth has landed in jail after he made a hoax call to Delhi Police's Control Room on October 3 stating that a bomb had been planted at Khel Gaon in Delhi.

A Gujjar youth has landed in jail after he made a hoax call to Delhi Police's Control Room on October 3 stating that a bomb had been planted at Khel Gaon in Delhi. The call came while Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony was in progress. Soon after, Delhi Police strengthened its security network and informed the Faridabad police that the call had been traced to Faridabad.

"We traced the person and have arrested him," Darshan Lal Malik, assistant commissioner of police, Sarai Kwaja said on Friday.

"The arrested person has been identified as Devinder of Anagpur village in Faridabad who confessed to having made the hoax call," said Jitendra Dhanda, SHO, Old Faridabad. Devinder was produced before the court on Friday, which remanded him to judicial custody.
