Two passengers, including a doctor, of the Mumbai bound Jet Airways flight from here were taken into custody on Tuesday, following a bomb scare from one of them.

According to an official at the Nedumbassery airport, Joseph, a passenger of the flight 9W 404, claimed that he was carrying a bomb as the plane was preparing for the take off.

Joseph, a doctor working in Uganda, and his friend Saji (26) hailing from Mazhuvanoor near Aluva in the district were taken into custody for questioning, police said.
All the 91 passengers in the plane were offloaded and the aircraft was thoroughly checked by airport authorities with the help of police, the official said. However, no explosive device was found in the search.
