According to Contactmusic.com, Taraborreli spent overt 20 years doing research and says the compelling parts of his new book Elizabeth revolve around Taylor's medical mysteries.

He says: "There were so many times along the way when Elizabeth Taylor was lucky that she didn't die."

He claims that Taylor almost died at the age of 30 when she was admitted to the hospital for what most people claim was a suicide attempt. "People thought she'd tried to commit suicide and maybe she did. Only she would really know. She had taken so many pills and had so much in her system that people were wondering how she was even able to survive."
