Bops, Qureshi lose in thriller

Every Grand Slam is remembered for that one exciting match. In the 2011 French Open, Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi’s match against the Bryan brothers has been a thriller. The Indo-Pak Express, as they are commonly known, lost in a three-set men’s doubles quarterfinal match that stretched over two days.

After Bob and Mike Bryan lost the first set 6-7 (2) on Tuesday evening, they came back to win the second at 6-3. With the match tied at one-set all, 5-5, play was suspended due to bad light. On Wednesday, the four returned to settle the matter.

The fifth seeds made it 6-5 but the twins drew level. In the super tiebreak, both pairs fought for a semifinal berth. But ultimately, it was the American pair that prevailed.
