“The investigations suggest that he had hatched the murder plan. He will be handed over to the child welfare committee. We are following the legal procedure,” said deputy commissioner of police Parag Manere.

Around 10 to 15 youngsters murdered the 35-year-old man by attacking him with choppers and steel rods on Friday night.

The accused wanted to take revenge as Peerbadshah alias Haji Abdul Sheikh had beaten the main accused a few days ago for allegedly molesting and harassing a girl in his locality. The girl’s family, however, did not report the matter to the police.

The DCP said that further decision will be taken after a consultation with a child psychologist. They may take help of the counselor to check the minor’s violent and criminal side of the personality.

Sunil Patil, investigation officer, Mahamta Phule police station, said, “The deceased was like a social worker in the locality. When any boy was found harassing a girl in the area, he would intervene. The same happened in case of the Kali Masjid incident.”
