The script was perfect for this weeks’ release 99. Most tradewallahs felt that audience were hungry for entertainment and going by the decent names in cast — Soha Ali Khan, Vinod Khanna, Boman Irani and Cyrus Broacha, the film was expected to take atleast an opening 40 per cent. But in vain.

Misleading
On Friday, the opening was as low as 15 per cent at singleplexes and about 20 per cent at multiplexes. The reason for this lukewarm response.. non-aggressive promotion. Due to the title, the singleplex audience expected the film to be an English film. Tradewallahs strongly believe, had the film promoted well, the result would definitely have been better. But now its of no use as collections dropped further on Saturday and Sunday.

The second release of the week — Suno Na.. was again not promoted. In fact, not many were aware till Wednesday that the film was set to release on Friday. Loser! At the time, when Hindi producers are shying away from releasing their movies, most of the South dubbed films are attracting good audiences in singleplexes.
