An abducted boy who managed to get away from his kidnappers has the whole police set-up here in a tizzy. Because his story, if it is true, goes way beyond a routine case of abduction.
Chandrashekhar Maurya, 17, has revealed that after his abduction, he was made to do what the police suspect to be a dry run of a terrorist attack on the Kashi Vishwanath temple. On the basis of his story, Senior Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Pandey has released sketches of two suspected terrorists who were among the four people who allegedly made Maurya do the dry run.
The district police have been put on high alert for Dussehra and Bharat Milap, which fall on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Incidentally, the sketches match the description of the two terrorists who are absconding after the Shramjeevi Express blast in Jaunpur last year.
Maurya claims he was kidnapped by four car-borne terrorists from the Alinagar area of Chandauli on September 20. They reportedly detained him in a house for two days and then took him to Varanasi for a day and showed him the temple.
They then instructed him to go to the temple wearing a belt, take off the belt and then run away if it came to the notice of the police. Two of the four terrorists then reportedly took him to Delhi by train but he managed to escape from their clutches at the railway station.

{{/usCountry}}After his escape, he went to a police station and told his story to an officer there. That policeman informed the Intelligence Bureau. After an inquiry, the Delhi police brought him to back Chandauli. Sources said the boy told the police that the terrorists threatened him with dire consequences if he revealed their plan.
Maurya is back with his parents now but the police are keeping a close watch on him and trying to ascertain whether his story is the truth.
