Boy rescued within 3 hrs of abduction

The police arrested two men just three hours after they allegedly kidnapped a 3-year-old boy from his home Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and transporting him to the Capital. HT reports.

The police arrested two men just three hours after they allegedly kidnapped a 3-year-old boy from his home Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and transporting him to the Capital.

They were planning to sell the boy to a willing buyer in the Capital, police said on Saturday.

"Dileep, a resident of Faridabad, and Rajesh Sharma, who hails from Samastipur district in Bihar, were arrested based on a tip off from Kirti Nagar in west Delhi yesterday, just three hours after the duo abducted Mohammad Kaif from his village in

Gautam Budh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh," said V Renganathan, deputy commissioner of police (west).

According to police, a trap was laid and the duo was apprehended when pointed out by an informer.

"During questioning, Sharma admitted that he along with Dileep had kidnapped the child from Surajpur in Gautam Budh Nagar. They said that their purpose was to sell him to a buyer in the city," said a senior police officer.

Police said the victim was in good health had been handed over to his mother.
