A juvenile court magistrate will hear 16-year-old Dhileepan Raj's deposition in the evening, police said.

His doctor parents, K Murugesan and Gandhimathi, were arrested on June 25 and police formed several teams to trace Dhileepan, who reportedly performed the surgery on March 25.

Dhileepan had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court, which disposed of it a few days ago with a direction to police to produce him before the Juvenile Justice Board, which would decide the issue of bail for him.

A sessions court near Tiruchirappalli had rejected the bail plea of Dhileepan's parents on Tuesday

After the matter came to light, police registered a case against the doctors and their son under sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 336 (act endangering life of others), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life) and 419 (cheating) of the IPC.

Murugesan now claims that he performed the surgery while his son watched.

The Tamil Nadu branch of IMA adopted a resolution at a recent meeting seeking disciplinary action against Murugesan.
