"The statement of George W Bush is an insult to the nation. It seems to be a reflection on the western world's growing insecurity over the country's rising economic stature," VHP international secretary general Praveen Togadia said in a statement in Allahabad.

The fire-brand VHP leader made a fervent appeal to all countrymen to refuse to take this insult lying down and respond by boycotting all goods manufactured in America.

"Indians must now rise to the occasion and boycott popular US brands like Colgate and Ariel so that the American President in particular and his country's leadership in general is made to realise the how important India's prosperity is for their own economy," Togadia said.
