“On October 27 last year, Ajay Bajaj, an importer of foreign cars residing in Khar, had lodged a robbery complaint,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria.

Allan Merchant (21), Valentine Jacento (20) and Suraj Hadanle (20) spent the stolen money holidaying in Goa and on expensive cars.

Allan and Suraj worked as bartenders in ‘V’ Lounge on Juhu Tara Road and Valentine worked in a Malad BPO. Varsha Kodekar (29), the fourth accused, has also been arrested.

The trio was arrested from Goregaon, on Thursday. Interrogation revealed that Varsha had made the robbery plan. Varsha, who has a case of theft against her, used to work in Bajaj’s house as a domestic help.

“The three stashed Rs1.10 crore in seven plastic packets. They gave Sabeena Rs 40 lakh. They went to Goa and spent lakhs of rupees on prostitutes and drinking,” Maria said.

They bought second-hand cars worth Rs 12 lakh — Suraj bought a Honda Accord, Allan an Accent and Valentine a Santro.
