BSP candidate from Phulpur parliamentary constituency Kesri Devi Patel escaped unhurt when her vehicle was allegedly stoned by some Samajwadi Party workers in Jamkhuri village on Wednesday, official sources said.

Patel had gone to the village following reports of booth capturing bid there when some SP workers pelted stones at her vehicle, the sources said.
One BSP worker, gram pradhan Sharda Chamar suffered injuries in the ensuing clash between the workers of the two parties, they said adding one SP activist identified as Mohd Sami was taken into custody and detained at nearby police station.
Protesting against the incident, the BSP candidate sat on dharna in Mauima police station, according to her media coordinator Santosh Jain.
