SENIOR BAHUJAN SAMAJ Party leader Ashok Srivastav expressed hope that the party candidate would emerge victorious in the zila panchayat chairperson’s election and claimed that the party had support of the panchayat members of all parties.
Talking to mediapersons, Srivastav said development projects in the district failed to take shape due to paucity of funds. The State Government had stopped fresh funding and officials concerned squandered the available funds. He said the planetarium at Ramgah Tal, tourist centre, and auditorium were much-awaited projects for the district, which remained incomplete even after 16 years of its inception.
Srivastav expressed concern over incidents of loot, murder, and dacoity in the district and claimed that law and order was strengthened during the Mayawati regime in the state.
The criminals were behind bars and people were feeling secure at the time, he added. He further said that political parties failed to formulate any policy for the youth to remove unemployment at the national level.
He criticised the “insensitive attitude” of officials towards grievances of the people. Voicing his concern over the unrest prevailing in universities and educational institutions, Srivastav expressed hope that the New Year would pave the way for prosperity and self-reliance of the youth.

He said the organisation had been formed to provide a platform to young sportspersons.
