Dr Ahmad said that the BSP strongly believed in secular values and used to deal with the communal forces with an iron hand.

He said that even the BJP leaders had demanded to shift the old slaughterhouse from the congested are at Humayunpur. They never said that no new slaughterhouse would be constructed.

He criticised the forces for raising the issue to consolidate their vote banks.
Ahmad said that around two dozen buffalos used to be slaughtered almost every locality of the city. This could led to the health problems. He said that administration was working under pressure of certain forces and their partisan attitude could create problems.
