BSP leader Ramraksha Pal objected to a TV cable passing through a piece of land owned by him in Chuptepur village of Shivpur area.

Senior Superintendent of Police Vijay Prakash said angry villagers attacked his house after an altercation last night.
Pal's home was pelted with stones. Villagers also torched a Toyota Qualis SUV and two motorcycles, provoking him to open fire.

Two youths suffered bullet injuries -- one of them in the chest -- and were rushed to a private nursing home.

An extra police contingent was deployed in the area in view of tense situation, the SSP said.
