BSP wins Hardoi by-election

BSP candidate Nitin Agarwal won the Hardoi assembly by-election defeating his nearest Samajwadi Party rival Sukh Sagar Misra by a margin of 17,365 votes.

BSP candidate Nitin Agarwal won the Hardoi assembly by-election defeating his nearest Samajwadi Party rival Sukh Sagar Misra by a margin of 17,365 votes.

Agarwal polled 65,533 votes against Misra's 48,168 votes, official sources said.

Congress nominee Mithlesh Chauhan fared third polling 5737 votes and also lost his deposit, sources said.

Nitin Agarwal is the son of former state minister Naresh Agarwal, who was elected from the seat in the last election as Samajwadi Party candidate.
