BSY has announced he would quit the BJP by the end of November and formally launch his new outfit Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) on December 9.

Many ministers and MLAs, considered close to the Karnataka strongman, are now either clearly saying that they would stay put in the BJP or that they would not be attending the KJP meet.

Former Congress leader and housing minister V Somanna, who had sided with BSY in ousting former CM DV Sadananda Gowda, recently said he would not attend BSY’s December 9 meet.

On Friday, BSY said he had asked his supporter ministers not to attend his party’s launch. ”I have asked them not to come as they have to attend the assembly session.”
