BSY gets bail in 2 more cases

In what came as further relief for BJP’s former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka HC on Wednesday granted a conditional anticipatory bail to him in two cases of alleged illegal denotification of government land. HT reports.

In what came as further relief for BJP’s former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka HC on Wednesday granted a conditional anticipatory bail to him in two cases of alleged illegal denotification of government land.

Earlier, Yeddyurappa and former housing minister Es En Krishnaiah Setty were released from jail on regular bail in two other cases.

Yeddyurappa’s sons BY Raghavendra (MP), BY Vijayendra, his son-in-law Sohan Kumar and others have also been granted bail. Yeddyurappa has sought anticipatory bail in a fifth case, which will come up for hearing on Friday.

Bangalore advocates Sirajin Basha and KN Balaraj had filed five cases of corruption and illegal land deals against Yeddyurappa, his family members and others in January.

Justice H Billappa directed Yeddyurappa and his family members to furnish Rs 2 lakh bonds and two sureties, each.
