No weightage will now be given to students who produce National Cadet Corps (NCC), or outstanding sportsman’s certificates. However, two per cent seats will be reserved for sportspersons who have represented the State at the national level, or the country at the Olympics or the Asian Games. Sources said the percentage of marks obtained in high school, intermediate and BA would be considered and a merit list would be prepared at the district level for admission.

The sources said a special committee under the chairmanship of the district magistrate would be constituted for the selection of candidates at the district level.

The chief development officer, the district inspector of schools, the basic shiksha adhikari and the principal of the DIET would be the members of the committee.

Meanwhile, the Basic Education Department has decided to announce the final list of selected candidates for the two-year special BTC (Urdu) on June 25. Their training will start from July 1.
