Now, in what is being touted as the first offer of its kind in the country, Shangri-La’s Eros hotel in Connaught Place is serving the bubbly by the glass for R 2,200 (plus taxes). The hotel is using the Perlage system, which helps the drink retain its effervescence even after the bottle has been opened. “It’s just a way of bringing affordable luxury to everyone,” says the hotel’s consultant sommelier Harshal Shah.
