BUDDH MAHOTSAV will be organised at Lavkush Higher Secondary School, 190, Himmatganj here on Saturday, to observe Baishakh Poornima. It will be organised by Lord Buddha Welfare Society.
Addressing media persons here on Friday, spokesperson GS Shakya said, “Through the function we will try to let people know about the relevance of Baudh Dhamm in establishing world peace.” Besides, a proposal regarding various issues including declaration of public holiday on the occasion of jayanti of Samrat Ashoka, printing of Ashoka emblem in an enlarged form on currency notes and inclusion of only baudhs in managing committee of Budh Vihar in Bodh Gaya, would be propagated among the masses, added Shakya.
NCZCC to organise function today: A culture event will be organised by the State Tourism Department in collaboration with North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) and Kaushambi Vikas Parishad on the occasion of Buddh Purnima at Kaushambi Inspection House and Kaushambi Baudh Sthal, Kaushambi, on May 13. Divisional Commissioner Dr Lalit Verma will be the chief guest, according to a press release issued by regional tourism officer, RK Yadav here on Friday.
