Occupying the platform beside their counterparts has brought a feeling of togetherness and the burgeoning crowd has bolstered their morale.

The artists at the ongoing Kala Mela in the Allahabad University Delegacy premises fall short of words when they describe the response they are receiving. However, few still feel that the sense of patronising the art is there among the citizens but they are still shy of spending a significant amount on artistic creations.

Abhay from Gramodaya University, Chitrakoot who has participated for the first time in the cultural extravaganza said, it is altogether a novel experience. "Such a wide scale presentation of our works is definitely having a positive effect on our mindset. Our work is being appreciated and this will definitely help us in our professional ventures in future," he said.

Jitendra, BFA IInd year student confirmed good response by the visitors. "People are also asking for the price for the creations which signifies their interest," he added.

Vidyasagar, teacher from Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Handicapped University, Chitrakoot, held the opinion that Kala Mela offered an opportunity for them for the first time to be part of such a grand affair. "We are gradually heading towards professionalism but it will take some time. Mela itself holds the meaning of fair where, of course, people could also buy things besides appreciating them," he added. Lokesh Kumar, student of Srijan Lalit Kala Sansthan, Lucknow, who too has participated for the first time said, people are visiting the venue in hordes which is a good sign. "Few are also interested in buying the creations but it seems they are still not ready to part with a few thousands for the paintings", he said.

Ashutosh Mishra, BFA IIIrd student, Allahabad University said Kala Mela is an opportunity for him to look forward towards novel activities each day and to exhibit his creations before so many people.

Dr Hemant Dwivedi, teacher from Sukhadia University, Udaipur said that professional attitude is necessary and it is true that the society is imbibing the significance of art and its role in their life. "Developing the concept of 'mart and art' has become the topic of utmost discussion as the artist too spends on the material through which he expresses his talent," he added.
