The other supplementary budget proposals include special provisions for land acquisition for the proposed auto-testing track at Pithampur in Dhar district, voluntary retirement to the staff of the Madhya Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (MPRTC) and sanction in anticipation under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal for filling up 12 posts of professors and associate professors in medical colleges through promotions by general category candidates in case of non-availability of reserved category candidates.

The decision has been taken in the light of the Medical Council of India’s objections about vacancies at the higher posts. As reserved category candidates could not be available for these posts in near future the Cabinet decided to fill such posts by general category candidates.

At present the rate is excessive as compared to other states and, therefore, the State Government was not receiving income as the transfer of such properties is being carried out through other means.

Reduction in the stamp duty would help the State Government secure income through proper registration of such properties.

The meeting cleared a proposal for taking guarantee for 80 per cent of about Rs 19-crore loan from NABARD for augmented drinking water scheme for Harda city.
