The two communication companies jointly announced the new telecom packages under which BSNL would offer a minimum tariff of 40 paise a minute for its mobile subscribers (post-paid) for calls on its network.

Under the new tariff package, fixed-line services would have a rental of Rs 299 a month and the local call charges would be Rs 1 for three minutes.

All other calls made from landline phones anywhere in the country or on mobile phones would be charged at the rate of Rs one a minute, BSNL Chairman AK Sinha told reporters.

For its post-paid mobile services, the corporation has proposed a rental of Rs 299 and the calls to other BSNL subscribers would be at the rate of 40 paise a minute. Calls to any other network across the country would attract a tariff of Rs one a minute, he said.
