The police said the 45-year-old Rajesh Singhal was injured in the incident.

“The man had been provided a woman by a resident of Modinagar and the said woman operated from Rajnagar area of Ghaziabad,” Ghaziabad SSP L. Ravi Kumar told Hindustan Times.

Singhal runs his own business in Texas. He flew down to India last month. “He had come to Ghaziabad on October 23 for participating in some celebrations and later hired a taxi and a driver from Ghaziabad. On November 6, Singhal took the woman and her accomplice along with him and drove towards the NH-24. In the evening, they had their dinner packed from a hotel near Dasna area and drove towards Pilkhuwa. On the way, two other persons, said to be accomplices of the women, stopped the car, beat up and threw the driver out of the car,” the police said.

The police have arrested the person who provided the woman to Singhal and a case has been registered at Masoori police station, the SSP said. The police are trying to locate the woman and her accomplices.
