naugurating a weeklong workshop to create awareness among the people to protect themselves from HIV infection at MRI centre, he said Indian Medical Association would organise four workshops in this month in cooperation with National AIDS Control Programme and Clinton Foundation.
On the first day of the camp, 53 physicians participated in the camp. Associate professor of BRD Medical College Dr Rina Srivastav, medical superintendent of Nehru Hospital Dr KN Sharma, associate professor in department of Pharmacology Dr PP Gupta and Dr Sadhna Gupta were the instructors in the camp.
Coordinator of the camp, Dr BB Gupta said the physicians who failed to register their name in the camp could contact 9415210579 for their registration.
He said that the second workshop would be organised at Jeevan Jyoti Hospital.
He further informed that 160 workshops had been planned across the country and around 8000 physicians would participate in these camps. While at one hand, the IMA and other organisations had started the AIDS awareness programme, the number of HIV positive cases had increased in the district. A woman (30) resident of Chauri Chaura collapsed due to HIV. She was undergoing treatment since last one year.

Dr Gupta said there was no need of costly medicine to increase the immunity, a proper diet and precaution for a HIV patient was sufficient to survive his life for the more then fifteen year. Expressing his concern over the attitude of the educated youth, he said that the youth today were also going under the myths and it should be taken seriously.
