The country's USP
The USP is safety. The United Nations has awarded the country the status of 'a safe place to live in' for several consecutive years.
Canada boasts of over 1,00,000 foreign students, from all parts of the world, on its campuses.
About 2000 students wound their way to study in Canada in 2005. The best thing about the Canada as a higher education destination is that, for admission to most Canadian institutes, aspirants don’t have to take the SAT, unlike for US universities.

Admission is primarily on the basis of Class XII marks. Canada also has many of ‘us’ as almost a million Canadians are of Indian origin.
Hot for what?
Canada is projected as being hot for animation and graphic designing. Sixty per cent of the animation technology work from Hollywood is outsourced to Canada.
The country boasts that Canadian institutes have produced makers of films like Jurassic Park, The Mask, Terminator II - Judgement Day and a few more.
Biotechnology is also gaining popularity amongst Indian students.

Here’s a primer on things a Canadian education aspirant needs to know Commencement of session: The university session runs from September to May. Some universities teach under a semester or trimester system with courses available even during the summer.
When to apply: Begin the application exercise a year ahead of the academic session you intend to join.
How to apply: Except for institutions located in the province of Ontario, most Canadian institutes issue their own application forms. Those wishing to study at universities in Ontario should route their applications through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (www.ouac.on.ca), an online, centralised admissions service organisation based in the province. The OUAC form allows applicants to select only three institutions. There is no need not apply to more than three institutions, if you do your research well in time.
