All political parties have been organising nukkad meetings and door-to-door campaign in different localities to garner support of common masses.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kaushlendra Singh, along with party workers, approached different wards, lanes and by-lanes to garner voters’ support. The election offices of BJP have also been opened at different places to effectively campaign for its candidate.

State general secretary (organizing) of BJP, Dr Rampati Tripathi said that common masses were disappointed with the alleged misrule of Mulayam Singh Yadav and under such scenario, the BJP was the only party which could ensure good governance in the State.

BJP has formed an election committee for Varanasi Nagar Nigam poll. Former MP Shankar Prasad Jaiswal has been appointed as the president of election committee while MLC Ashok Dhawan and Sudhir Mishra have been appointed coordinator and co-cordinator, respectively.

SP’s Kanahiya Lal Gupta is personally meeting people to seek vote.
