The serial blasts in Mumbai on Wednesday left an impact in the city too. The family of a woman who had committed suicide after allegedly being tortured by her husband had to postpone their plan to hold a candlelight vigil.
The Delhi police have denied permission to hold a protest at the India Gate after the city was put on high alert following the blasts. The victim, Ruchi Bhattan, was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence in DLF City on June 28. According to police, she committed suicide after a fight with her husband Sumit over his relationship with model Meera Chopra, the cousin of a Bollywood actor.
“We wanted to hold a candlelight vigil at the India Gate on this Sunday to seek justice for my sister. We want to raise this issue to get the public support. But, due to Mumbai blasts permission was not given by the concerned authority,” said Preeti Gambhir, Ruchi's sister. Now the family has decided to hold the 'Justice for Ruchi Bhuttan' campaign next week.
“We hope that we will get the permission to hold the vigil next Sunday,” Preeti said. The family is also using social networking website Facebook to garner support.

Meanwhile, the Gurgaon police have arrested Sumit Bhuttan and are investigating the case.
