American seventh seed Jennifer Capriati reached the quarter-finals of the French Open on Sunday with a 7-5, 6-1 win against Italian 17th seed Francesca Schiavone.
Capriati, the champion in 2001, will face second seed and 2002 winner Serena Williams for a place in the semi-finals.
