A CAR got burnt in mysterious circumstances in Jehangirabad area on Tuesday. The incident occurred at around 11.45 am near Aheerpura when the car got engulfed in flames all of a sudden and soon it was charred, sources said. It is suspected that the sparking from the power line led to the fire.
The police also suspect that the gas kit in the car could have led to the blaze engulfing the car in a jiffy. The car belonged to one Tanweer Ahmed, and was parked outside his house. Some residents have taken illegal connection from the main power line and it is surmised that this caused the fire. The vehicle cost around Rs 2 lakh.
The police are looking into the matter though no case was registered because it caused no loss or harm to anyone. The flames were so intense that the only its frame remained after the fire was put out. Fire tenders were pressed into service and the blaze was controlled.
