Kot Chowki incharge Som Pal Singh got a tip-off that some criminals were sitting in car parked at a dhaba near Kot bridge, hundred metres from the chowki.

When the PCR van reached the spot, two men fled the spot while the others drove the car towards the policemen. Singh was hit by the car and suffered severe wounds. He was rushed to the Kailash Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.

The police have seized the car and registered a case against Ashok, a history sheeter.
