Called Viva Goa, the festival is on at The Square restaurant at the hotel. The ongoing food fest will conclude on May 22.

Says Liston Johnson, food and beverage manager, “The idea is to offer our clientele and in-house regulars a different taste of food and ambience, apart from the delicacies they are used to having every day.”

In order to to authenticate the beach experience, The Square’s has been changed to suit the mood. The ceiling sports custom-made fishing nets. Plastic fishes hang from the ceiling and only Goan Konkani songs are played by the resident DJ.

The hotel has also roped in chef Kaitano Fernandes from Goas Majorda Beach Resort to design the menu.

“I can’t believe the response I have got from Mumbai locals who come to eat at The Square. Just the other day, a patron came to me and told me that he thought he was in Goa eating the food, fresh off the coast,” he says.
