Case against Raj Thackeray to come up on Feb 21

A court in Indore would hear a petition filed against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for making objectionable statements against north-Indians, on February 21.

A court in Indore would hear a petition filed against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for making objectionable statements against north-Indians, on February 21.

One Tikku Tiwari filed the petition in the judicial magistrate first class RK Batham's court last week.

The case was filed under Section 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief) and 153-A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of place of birth) of the IPC against Thackeray, petitioner's advocate Shailendra Dwivedi told reporters.

The court has fixed Februray 21 for recording the statement of the complainant in this regard, he added.
