Cases filed against woman municipal councillor, five others

Cases were registered against a woman municipal councillor and five others for conducting an agitation and dumping 50 kgs of ration rice front of the residence of Chief Minister V Vaithilingam on last Friday.

Cases were registered against a woman municipal councillor and five others for conducting an agitation and dumping 50 kgs of ration rice front of the residence of Chief Minister V Vaithilingam on last Friday.

Police said S Rajalakshmi, councillor of Puducherry Municipality representing Tiruvalluvar nagar ward here and some others dumped the rice, distributed through ration shops free of cost to families belonging to BPL category and holding red colour cards and five kilo rice to families of APL category.

Cases were registered against them yesterday, police said.
