Rayapati Sambasiva Rao of Congress, who is seeking re-election for the fourth time from Guntur Lok Sabha seat, TDP's M Rajender, PRP's T Chandra Sekhar and Yedlapati Swaroopa Rani of BJP are among the candidates in the fray for the seat.

However, Rao, who trounced TDP's Y V Rao by a margin of about 1,30,000 votes in 2004 general elections, may scrape through by a slender majority this time, political observers say.

Rao is confidant of winning the election again on the basis of developmental works he carried out in the constituency besides easy access to him and his popularity.

TDP's Rajendra is the son of Late M S Koteswara Rao, former minister in the NTR cabinet, is hopeful that his father's legacy will help him garner votes.

He is also banking on TDP's schemes to reach out to voters.
